    Open-mic night – 15th April 2019

    We had a fantastic 12th Anniversary night in Monday with competition winner Mary Anne Smith reading her winning entry and a selection of her poems. Shortlisted poets Geraldine McCarthy and Derek Sellen also read, while competition judge Bernadette McCarthy read a highly commended entry from Jenny Pollak.     The Hayloft was full to the brim for a poignant, yet celebratory night of memorable tributes to Matthew Sweeney, including numerous readings of his poetry. Matthew had originally been booked to read at this event and so had asked a number of poets to read poems from his new collections.
