Presented by Matthew Geden, readers include <strong>Christine Kannapel, Mairead Willis, Beau Williams, Niamh Twomey, Hailey Hughes <\/strong> and <strong>Molly Twomey.<\/strong><\/font><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"1\"><span style=\"color: silver;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.obheal.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/ChristineKannapelSm.jpg\" width=\"112\" height=\"100\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\"\/><\/span><\/font><font size=\"1\"><strong>Christine Kannapel<\/strong> received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Utah, where she studied English and French. Currently, Christine is pursuing a Masters of Arts in Creative Writing at University College Cork. Christine&#8217;s creative work has appeared in: <i>Metaphor, The Canticle, The Daily Utah Chronicle, Rubor, Peculiar<\/i>, and the University of Utah&#8217;s Undergraduate Research Journal. She lives in Salt lake City, Utah USA.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"1\"><\/font><font size=\"1\"><span style=\"color: silver;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.obheal.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Mairead WillisSM.jpg\" width=\"82\" height=\"100\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\"\/><\/span><strong>Mairead Willis<\/strong> is a writer from Portland, Oregon. After studying neuroscience, she made an unexpected pivot to pursuing an MA in Creative Writing at UCC, which she is enjoying immensely. He is currently based in Galway, Ireland. Beau&#8217;s&nbsp;work may be found in his own collections&nbsp;<i>RUMHAM<\/i>&nbsp;(2016, Red Bench Press) and&nbsp;<i>Nail Gun and a Love Letter<\/i>&nbsp;(2018, Swimming With Elephants).&nbsp;In January of 2017, Beau was the Artist in Residence at Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland. He is also the Head Organizer of the Glasshouse Poetry Open Mic in Galway.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"1\"><\/font><font size=\"1\"><span style=\"color: silver;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.obheal.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/NiamhTwomeySm.jpg\" width=\"107\" height=\"100\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\"\/><\/span>Since winning the Hotpress &#8216;Write&nbsp;Here Write Now&#8217; young writers competition in 2016, <strong>Niamh&nbsp;Twomey<\/strong> has had her poetry published in journals and anthologies such as UCC&#8217;s <i>Quarryman, Flight Writing, Tales From The Forrest<\/i>, Opportunity Publishing&#8217;s <i>Along the Way, Poethead<\/i>, and more.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"1\"><\/font><font size=\"1\"><span style=\"color: silver;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.obheal.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/HaileyHughesSm.jpg\" width=\"122\" height=\"100\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\"\/><\/span>Originally from Parkersburg, WV, <strong>Hailey Hughes<\/strong> is an essayist and budding poet. She earned her BA in Creative Writing in 2017 from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. Hailey is a proud 2018-2019 US Student Fulbright grantee to Ireland, and a student in the Creative Writing MA Programme at University College Cork. She is continually amazed and humbled by the immense talent of the vibrant literary community in County Cork.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"1\"><\/font><font size=\"1\"><span style=\"color: silver;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.obheal.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/MollyTwomeySm.jpg\" width=\"111\" height=\"100\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\"\/><\/span><strong>Molly Twomey<\/strong> grew up in Lismore, County Waterford, before studying in NUI Galway and UCC. She has been published in <i>The Irish Times, The Examiner, Headstuff, The Mighty, The Quarryman<\/i>, and has poetry upcoming in <i>Educate.ie<\/i>&#8216;s &#8216;Verse O.L. 2021&#8217;. She was shortlisted for a Hennessy Award and for Over the Edge&#8217;s New Writer of the Year. The Salvage Press will publish <i>Darklight<\/i>, a fine press edition of ten poems with etchings by Dorothy Cross, in 2019. His work appears regularly in journals and newspapers. He was awarded the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Prize for 2014 and his poetry was shortlisted for the Hennessy New Irish Writing Award in 2015. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"1\">He is a recipient of a Key West Literary Bursary and has led creative writing workshops in Spain and Greece. John lives with his family on a farm in Lissarda, County Cork. She is a poet and short story writer and her work has appeared in many magazines and anthologies. Karen&#8217;s first poetry collection <i>FINGERPRINTS<\/i> (On Canvas) was published by Doghouse Books in 2005. He studied literature at the University of California, and was a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University. Under the name George Angel, he has published poetry, fiction, and essays in English and a book of short fiction, <i>The Fifth Season<\/i>, won the 1995 Fiction Collective 2 Nilon Award. A new and selected poems, <i>On the Voice<\/i>, was published in 2016. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"1\">Since 1995, he has lived in Medellin, Colombia, authoring six books of poetry, and three books of theater plays all in Spanish under the name Mario Angel Quintero. He continues to write and publish in both English and Spanish. He is a visual artist and the director and playwright of the theatre company Parpado Teatro, as well as a founding member of several musical groups. I have spent the intervening period indolently, but indolence has its virtues.
